Drawing inspiration from the original hare and the tortoise children’s story, “IN ANOTHER LIFE” is a reimagination of the story’s perspective: instead of focusing on what was lost due to the hare’s decision, this piece hones in on the moment the hare opened its eyes and first encountered the blue skies; prizing on the present moment, with the hare even celebrating the tortoise’s victory in solidarity of another’s achievements. It is a nod to the concept of mindfulness, honouring the present moment with graciousness, a wider look at our priorities in life, and moves away from the need to constantly chase and meet imposed expectations as the hare would’ve from this race. The vivid seraphinite paired with the blue-red combination of mountain jade symbolises the greenery and skies that the hare is surrounded with as this revelation happens. Adorned across the bracelet are various floral charms to accentuate the picturesque moment, and at the opposite centre, the tortoise also celebrating its joy of crossing the finishing line. 

A part of this poem pays homage to Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken"-a wonderful poem that reflects on the roads we choose in our lives.
